The distance MBA is the most asked-about programme we handle and the one surrounded by the most confusion, mostly because the marketing is loud and the process is rarely explained.
Who is eligible
A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university, typically with a minimum aggregate that varies by university. Work experience is usually not required for a distance or online MBA, though some universities offer executive variants that do require it and give weight to it.
The discipline of your bachelor's degree rarely matters. Engineers, commerce graduates and arts graduates enter the same programme. What matters is that the bachelor's degree is complete, with no outstanding backlog.
Entrance tests
Most distance and online MBA programmes admit on the basis of the qualifying degree rather than a national entrance examination. Some universities run their own short entrance or aptitude assessment. If you are told a national entrance score is mandatory for an online MBA, check that against the university's own admissions page before you act on it.
What it costs
Fees vary widely by university and there is no single figure worth quoting. What matters is that you get the complete structure in writing before you commit:
Tuition, stated per semester or per year, and the number of semesters.
Registration and enrolment charges, usually one-time.
Examination fees per semester, and the charge for re-sitting a paper.
The cost of the degree certificate, consolidated marksheet and any attestation.
Add those up before comparing universities. The advertised tuition is frequently not the largest part of the total.

After enrolment you get portal access, the learning material and the semester calendar. Keep the enrolment number and the fee receipts together; both are asked for later.
The specialisation
Choose it against the role you want, not the subject that sounds strongest. Finance, marketing, human resources, operations and systems all read differently to a promotions committee, and the specialisation usually appears on the certificate.
